December moodboard: Nutcracker

Welcome to December. ⠀

The theme of December is ‘Nutcracker’. ⠀
⠀
To be perfectly honest, I am not much of a Christmas person. I think over the last few years I’ve become a bit of a grinch. I really didn’t want to make the moodboard super Christmassy. So I had the idea to get back to something I loved as a child- ballet. I danced from about three years old until I was about 17. And I thought by reconnecting with my younger self, I’ll reconnect with Christmas. ⠀

But I’m hoping to do it in my own way, rather than in a traditional sense. I plan on taking myself out for a ‘Heidi Lou Design Christmas party’ to celebrate my achievements for the year. I hope to watch a few Christmas movies and maybe paint my nails in a festive colour. ⠀

And really focus on what Christmas means and what it brings to our lives. Beautiful catch ups with friends that are family, cheer in the air and delicious summer fruits. ⠀

So this month’s personal design pieces will reflect this direction. Oh and I’ll be putting together the corresponding brand also (I just have to think of what the business will be!) ⠀
