The September curation

Welcome to the curation for the month of September.

Each month I put together a moodboard to inspire my personal artwork, with a particular theme.

And then follows my ‘curation’. A curation of beautiful businesses and products that fit within the theme. With times being tough for small businesses, I wanted to create an opportunity to introduce you to some amazing goods that I genuinely want to add to my shopping basket (and often do!).

This month’s theme was ‘Woodlands’. I wanted this month to be about sitting in stillness and taking stock of the beauty around us. I’m often looking ahead and always on to the next thing. So this month I wanted to connect back to nature, go for a hike, feel the stillness and be appreciative for all the beauty in my life.

I put the call out for some products that would fit in with the forest greens, woodland creatures and ‘stillness’. And boy, do I have some amazing ones to share with you.

Please give them lots of love, follow them, purchase from them, spoil yourself and buy gifts for your loved ones.

And if you want to be featured in my coming curations, please send me a DM on Insta or email me. I’ll release the theme at the start of each month, collect the pieces during the month and publish the curation towards the end of the month x

One. FAUNA LUNE

Paige’s beautiful creations were recommended to me as soon as I announced the new monthly theme. And I was blown away by the detail and beauty of these pieces. What a beautiful gift they would be for little ones, or even for adults!

Paige says,

“My name is Paige Roberts and I am a self taught textile artist creating soft sculptures, heirloom mobiles and music boxes. My work focuses on bringing whimsical fauna to life using fabric and thread. Animals have always been a love of mine ever since I was a little girl. I especially loved to draw them and I knew from a very young age that I wanted to have a creative career path.

After having my daughter I decided to make an item for her nursery. She really became my muse and this opened the door to turning my drawings into soft sculptures. My work is also influenced by my love of fairytales, folklore and period pieces. I love to use vintage textiles, with romantic details such a lace and cotton gauze. You can purchase my work via my website at www.faunalune.com and view more detailed behind the scene photos of how I make my creations on my instagram @fauna.lune

Two. Felt in Bloom

I just have one question… Do these come in my size?

Kirsty says,

“Felt In Bloom is a small business located in Country Victoria creating handmade wool felt hair accessories and sourcing beautiful toys and decor for little ones.

Inspired daily by my two little loves and my love for nature, I'm trying to build a store where parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles alike, can come and support, not only predominantly Australian owned businesses, but also businesses who make their products from eco-friendly/sustainable materials.”

Three. BOTANIST AROMATHERAPY

I Instagram-met the beautiful Tanya through our biz friend Bay Bradfield and fell in love with the idea of her products- essential oils designed for self love. There’s so much care in these beautiful blends and I thought they would fit in the premise of ‘stillness’ perfectly. I have the ‘self-love’ roller and it’s beautiful!

Tanya says,

“Botanist Aromatherapy is an essential oil brand with a difference.  Small batch, handmade blends that are strictly vegan, cruelty-free and partnered with Mother Nature.

We create heart-centred products with a large focus on emotional support, self love, and empowerment.  Pure, high quality essential oils combined with energetically cleansed crystals and full moon magic. It is important to us that every batch is crafted with care therefore we only blend our beautiful oils when we are feeling aligned and in a state of positivity.

I featured this beautiful business in last month’s curation but I just had to include Siren and Stone again because their new pieces fit in with my new moodboard so perfectly. Can I buy all of them?!

Jesse says,

I came across this business in a Facebook group and loved that beautiful tulle top instantly and had to order one for myself. The quality is just beautiful and such a nice fit! Keep an eye out on my socials for some pictures!

Six. HUSKIA CREATIVE

How gorgeous are these beautiful wall hangings. I need one of these for when I move into my own place! How stunning and natural. And what a great way to bring in some greenery for a non-green-thumb like me.

Claudia says,

“Huskia, this small business all began during COVID19 isolation when I gained some spare time from my day job as a florist! I am based in the Riverina Region of NSW and have been creating and designing bespoke clay pieces and wall hangings from my at home studio since. Each item is hand-made, which means no two items are identical and each piece is a unique piece of art. I am always releasing new collections and unique products to my online Etsy shop and posting on Instagram @huskiacreative

As all of my wall hangings are bespoke, the best way to purchase is to get in touch via Instagram DM or email. ”

Seven. LOVE TEA

I first came across the Love Tea range at Hello Trader at the Sunshine Coast and I always buy more whenever I go back to visit. My favourite is the Skin Glow which has calendula, red clover and burdock root. I add a little bit of honey and it’s to die for.

Emma and Damien say,

“At Love Tea, we skilfully craft, blend and pack each of our products in Melbourne, Australia. We collaborate with growers and small scale cooperatives around the world to fairly source organic ingredients.

We thoughtfully design each of our unique products, to ensure optimum therapeutic benefit, exceptional flavour and minimal impact on the environment.

We hope our tea inspires you to make time to appreciate the quiet moments, take care of your health, and to share great tea with people you love.”

EIGHT. NOURISHED FOR LIFE

A little bit of a different one for this feature… I’ve been going to Jo once a month since February this year. And she is amazing. Jo is a kinesiologist but along with her energy work, she is amazing at counselling. It’s really hard to describe what she does because I haven’t experienced anything like it before. We talk through things and she has given me amazing techniques to implement in my life. Since I feel like she has made such a difference for me and helping me to find ‘stillness’, I really wanted to include her business in this curation. Jo and I do our sessions virtually, so she can work with people from anywhere. I can’t recommend Jo enough.

Jo says,

“I believe everyone deserves to feel seen and accepted for who they are and to know a sense of belonging and connection in the world. This is why I do the work I do, I'm passionate about helping women develop a strong sense of self enabling them to connect better with those they love.

I've developed my own unique blend of counselling and kinesiology and some of the benefits my clients describe are: improved connections with others, increased intimacy in relationships, stronger sense of self, better able to express their needs and feelings, a range of techniques to deal with conflict, guilt free self care.”

NINE. LUNAR VIBRATIONS

I met Triss in my hometown in Highfields when she had a beautiful pop up crystal shop. Since then, I’ve loved selecting pieces from her as gifts for friends, my clients and myself. I love the intention she has with everything she does within her business. You can tell a lot of thought and energy goes into her beautiful selections. I love her Insta story sales. Be sure to check them out!

Triss says,

“The woods often call to me with their ancient melody. The deep grounding connection Mother Earth heals me with is so familiar, helping me to remember many lifetimes of calling her energy for renewal.

The crystals that I am custodian of at Lunar Vibrations again connect me to the earth, and all of her infinite wisdom. That is why it is so important to me to source ethically unearthed pieces for my beautiful Lunar family. I respect her and all of her creations, and appreciate her regenerative powers.

There is something so magical about standing amongst the trees. It’s like you are sharing secrets together, the low hum of whispers from the canopies to the roots feels like you are invited into an enchanted kingdom.

This magic was the impetus to create my Forest Dweller ceramic range. Ritual is so important to my wellbeing, and the stillness that can be found by staring into smoke from burning herbs or incense is so enchanting and peaceful. If I find myself in chaotic energy, I place a stick in my Signature Incense Dish and allow myself to drift silently into the haze, still, calm, introspective. Time is irrelevant in this space, and I find so many answers and much needed guidance when I pause to listen.”
