The October curation
Welcome to the curation for the month of October. I just managed to squeeze in on the last day of the month! It’s been a little crazy with the launch of my Dreambound collection (which you can check out here).
Each month I put together a moodboard to inspire my personal artwork, with a particular theme.
And then follows my ‘curation’. A curation of beautiful businesses and products that fit within the theme. With times being tough for small businesses, I wanted to create an opportunity to introduce you to some amazing goods that I genuinely want to add to my shopping basket (and often do!).
This month’s theme was ‘This s*** is bananas’. I wanted this month to be about bringing light and laughter. I wanted to capture the feeling when the world starts to feel a bit too much, and your body can’t contain it. It’s like it bubbles up and you just can’t help but laugh. And immediately you feel the tension release. You do actually just have to say ‘thanks universe’ and throw your hands in the air a little.
I put the call out for some products that would fit in with the mellow yellows, bendy shapes, cheer and of course, bananas. It was actually a harder brief than I thought. But I got there in the end. I’ve found some absolute beauties for you.
Please give them lots of love, follow them, purchase from them, spoil yourself and buy gifts for your loved ones.
And if you want to be featured in my coming curations, please send me a DM on Insta or email me. I’ll release the theme at the start of each month, collect the pieces during the month and publish the curation towards the end of the month x
One. FRECKLED FUCHSIA
I came across this beautiful business on Instagram by searching banana hashtags and was counting my lucky stars. How cute are they? And I just love the product photography.
Chandlyr says,
“Freckled Fuchsia is a woman-owned lifestyle brand based in Portland, Maine. We design colorful gifts and objects for the kitchen, home and self. Our collection is playful, vibrant, and complementary to colorful and modern living spaces. The subjects of our designs are familiar and friendly, featuring beautiful fruits, animals and flora. Two. CLAY + CLOTH
I’ve been following Jesika for a little while and love her beautiful and minimal aesthetic. She posted a picture of beautiful mustard yellow earrings in a bent arch shape and I thought they’d fit in perfectly with the banana theme. How stunning are they!
Jesika says,
“CLAY + CLOTH was created from a simple idea; to build a brand that was thoughtfully and consciously made.
I design and handcraft unique minimal clay earrings in small batches from my home studio. They are comfortable, lightweight and modern pieces finished off with titanium earring posts to cater for even the most sensitive lobes.
As a young mum I encourage my children to be mindful of our environment and the consequences of our carbon footprint. Therefore I have a zero plastic policy, all of my packaging is reusable and some even compostable. ”

Three. SLEEPY DEE
Ok so bananas wasn’t exactly the easiest theme. So I thought about what else could fit in with the mood. Bananas in pyjamas anyone? And these bananas would be the most luxe bananas in these absolutely stunning pyjamas…
Director and designer Danielle says,
“Sleepy Dee is a boutique sleepwear brand manifesting from my commitment to delivering ethically made fashion. Each piece of our luxury lounge and sleepwear collection is handcrafted in Brisbane, Australia and accredited under the Australia Made Campaign.
Our team pride themselves on mindfully providing luxury boutique pieces with environmentally friendly certifications. The debut Sleepy Dee collection has been handmade from two sustainably produced materials; 100% Mulberry 22 momme silk and luxuriously soft organic bamboo.
Established in 2019, Sleepy Dee delivers effortless sophistication through a devotion to clean, modern well-crafted designs. With a deep respect for the high-calibre fabrics used, each piece is thoughtfully designed to exemplify the natural benefits and qualities of the sustainable fabrics used.
No matter your shape or style, Sleepy Dee’s sincerity in our mission to deliver opulent garments with a focus on fabric, cut and fit ensures your evening experience will always be transformed into something truly special.
Our collection of ethically made sleepwear is not limited to our exclusive pyjama range. Using the highest quality silks, our pillowcases are designed to provide ultimate comfort, with the natural hypoallergenic benefits of pure silk. Not only does silk boast natural anti-bacterial and hydrating merits, it also eliminates most of the friction caused by other pillowcases which can cause sleep creases and damage to your hair or skin.”

Four. SIREN AND STONE
Ok so this is the third time I’ve featured this beautiful business in a curation. But I saw her put out some new yellow products including the Marigold headband and an upcycled botanically dyed vintage slip which will be coming soon as part of a new collection, and I thought I just had to include them again!
Jesse says,
“Siren & Stone is a sustainable, Brisbane-based label creating small-batch jewellery, botanically dyed accessories and lifestyle products. Jesse strives to operate a 'zero waste' studio, repurposing and reclaiming materials and utilising natural fibres wherever possible. Siren & Stone embodies a mindful, slow-made approach, providing unique alternatives to the fast-fashion.”

And lastly… Heidi Lou DESIGN
Meet “Bananas”, my monthly limited print for the month of October.
‘Bananas’ is about giving yourself permission to enjoy a good laugh. It’s about acknowledging that sometimes you just have a run of really bad luck. But you can pull yourself out of it.
I hope this piece reminds you to have a giggle.
