Not a 'before and after'

So each month I do a photo shoot with @mbrandphotography that is in theme with my moodboard for that month. It’s a great way for me to get content to post and share my body positivity message alongside my artwork.

We did our first shoot together back in February with an Egyptian theme and I had my latest ones done mid June with my new leopard print theme.

During that time, I’ve been working out over at @freedomlifestyle.twmba as a brand ambassador.

It has felt so good to get into the gym regularly. I haven’t been pushing myself like crazy, but I’m making small and sustainable improvements. And I feel like it’s showing in my photos. I really noticed the difference when I got these ones back.

But these aren’t ‘before and after’ photos. It’s just my body at two different points in time. One is not any more worthy than the other. I’m so grateful to my past self and my body. I was going through a fair amount of stress at the time. And my body was keeping me safe and protected. I choose to honour all of the past versions of me.

I am however going to pat myself on the back for the effort I’ve put into looking after my physical and mental health. It’s taken four long months to notice this subtle difference. But I feel like I’m really building something that will last.

And this is my journey. Please don’t compare yourself. I only hope to inspire you to love or accept your body no matter where it is at. Be kind to yourself. You are exactly where you need to be right now.
