September moodboard: Citrus Reign
Ohhh I have had fun with the September moodboard. At the beginning of each month, I’m determining a direction for my personal work and projects and giving myself a base to come back to for ideas. Here’s what influenced this month’s mooooood. ⠀
⠀
🍑 I’m currently reading ‘Eggshell Skull’ by Bri Lee. It’s quite an intense read and I’m quite astonished by her resilience and strength. Powerful women seems to be a common theme in my life at the moment so I wanted to make strong women a prominent part of this month’s influences. ⠀
⠀
🍑 I found a few issues of ‘Women’s Realm’ from the 60s in an antique store last month. This front cover grabbed me and that’s what I based the moodboard around. There are some gorgeous photographs of women during that time with their heavy eyeliner and lashes. ⠀
⠀
🍑 Springtime of course! But I didn’t want to be literal and use your typical purple and pink flowers that usually go with spring. I want to show that you can communicate a concept visually in a non-literal sense. For example, just because your business has the word ‘banana’ in it, doesn’t mean your logo has to be a banana. You can communicate this in other ways. ⠀
⠀
🍑 Fluid lines and bold patterns. Lots of them made it to the moodboard so I have lots of ideas floating around in my head for some paintings. ⠀

Here’s to a sweet September 🍊
