April moodboard: Infinity and Beyond

WELCOME TO APRIL’S MOODBOARD

INFINITY AND BEYOND

With everything in the world feeling quite upside down at the moment, I really had no idea what I was going to base April’s mood on. Then I came across this quote and decided to go outside of this world for April.

“When the astronauts looked back, they saw that what they were leaving behind was perhaps even more beautiful than where they were going.”

I think it’s a time when we are all feeling quite retrospective. That maybe we took for granted what we had.

When astronauts first saw Earth from afar in 1968, they described a cognitive shift in awareness after seeing our planet ‘hanging in the void’.

With everything feeling as though it’s held in suspension, I for one am taking the time to reflect on what is important to me. I’m thinking about what I want to take into this ‘new world’ and what I want to leave behind.

One of the astronauts said, “when we originally went to the moon, our total focus was on the moon. We weren’t thinking about looking back at the Earth. But now that we’ve done it, that may well have been the most important reason we went.”

Often we forget about what we have in the present because we are focused on the future.

Brekky dates with my girlfriends, working from a busy library, walking along a beach, a picnic in the park, high-fives at the gym, physical touch with my favourite humans and getting lost in a movie at the cinemas. All things I would experience regularly. But never thought they would be taken away from me.

I know the world is suffering so much right now. And people are going through incredibly fearful and hard times.

I do take solace in that we are all going through this together. And if we can take some positives from this situation, then it’s ok. Don’t feel bad for enjoying this opportunity to pause and reflect. We’ve never been through anything like this before, there is no handbook on how to deal with it.

Let’s do what we can. And take a little space.
